How to store your videos on Google Cloud and deliver them via SmartVideo
1. Create a bucket with the Set permissions uniformly at bucket-level (Bucket Policy Only) setting applied.
2. From the Storage Browser, click on the bucket name, click Permissions, click Add members, type allUsers in the New members field, click the Select a role dropdown menu, type Storage Object Viewer, click the first search result, and finally click Save.
3. From the Bucket Details screen, click Upload files, and simply upload your video.
4. Once your video is finished uploading, click on the video's name, right click the link icon in the Access row and click Copy link address in the context menu that pops up.
Note: Make sure your video's access level is set to Public. If it is not, SmartVideo will be unable to process your video.
5a. If you are using our WordPress plugin, simply paste the copied URL in the Video source field (the gif below shows how this is done using our plugin with the new WordPress editor).
Note: If the video file doesn't seem to be working with the SmartVideo player, check to make sure your video's access level is set to Public and that you copied the URL exactly as demonstrated in step 4.
5b. If you are not taking advantage of our WordPress plugin, or are on another CMS platform entirely, simply use the URL you copied in step 4 as the source in a SmartVideo tag.
Note: If the video file doesn't seem to be working with the SmartVideo player, check to make sure your video's access level is set to Public and that you copied the URL exactly as demonstrated in step 4.
And that's it! 🎉
A few moments after previewing or publishing the page, SmartVideo will download, encode, and store your video on our global delivery network. We recommend keeping the file stored in your Google Cloud bucket in case the video is removed from your website by mistake.
